so within the past five days my partner and i last minute got offered the chance to go to a big festival for free doing volunteer work. my partner previously had a once off job he took (that’s next week after the festival) covering for an acquaintance. just the day before yesterday the job told him that he has to be in for training on a day that we’re at the festival. my partner wanted to give up the festival to go do this job even though they only last minute told him the day they’d need him in for training. we’re meant to leave tomorrow and he’s waiting to hear back from them if they could do the training another day. i’m going insane now with stress because i don’t know if i should be packing, preparing to go to another county for five days or not. he said he doesn’t want to let this friend down that i’ve never even heard of and he’s never spoken of. i’m telling him we already agreed to do this volunteer job before they told him they need him in for training while we’re there. this is a big festival that we were so excited to go to. i can’t understand why he’d rather let me down than some guy he barely knows. am i wrong for telling him we should go and needing him to figure it out for another day or just say he’s not available for the training because we’d planned to do this?
