I live in a 2 storied condominium building. My unit is on the upper floor, and my balcony is above the balcony of my neighbor downstairs. I have plants in my balcony that i water everyday. My neighbor had a patio cover up until recently which used to catch any dripping water from my balcony and route it outside the building. The patio cover was recently removed because it had a crack forming, and the neighbor decided not to install a new one saying the HOA policies don't require one. Now they started complaining to me about the water dripping from my balcony, asking me to ensure water doesn't drip. I tried my best to be cooperative but as watering plants goes, you cant really ensure 100% no water gets down. Plus I occasionally wash my balcony with water every few months so i cannot commit that no water will ever drip down. I asked the neighbor to install a new patio cover, also citing that during the rainy months they anyway have to deal with water. But they are not agreeing to this solution. AITA in this case? What options do we have for a solution that works for both of us?
