I am a film student drop out, a significant reason being that I am far too self conscious for an industry that revolves around sharing work, something I stupidly did not think about before starting. There was a student film showcase at a university theatre that collaborated with a legitimate ticket company (these tickets were free). There were what looked like about 30-40 people in the theatre. I, along with a cast and crew made up of 9 people, contributed to making one of the short films. Only the director and producion designer knew their film would screen here beforehand. When we made this short film, it was only for the intention of being submitted as an assignment. I never agreed to the work being made public and neither did the majority of people involved. To make things worse, the film was very noticeably poorly mixed and I am falsely credited as being responsible for the overall sound when I only recorded it and never actually received the film to mix it, and in many scenes the wrong tracks are used. I have severe stage fright and anxiety. This embarrassed me so much that I was in tears and had to leave the event. Apparently the version that was played was not even the updated version that was improved and sent in for this event, but rather the first version that was made in a hurry as the assignment. Is it reasonable to ask the event organiser and the club that hosted this event to inform people in future and to play the updated version when they have it or does this problem seem too specific to me?
