I (19F) recently noticed my mom (50F) had a cluster of white bubble-like blisters on her lip. I asked her if it was contagious and she insisted it wasn't. I'm not a doctor but I was worried that it could be herpes and I said she should get tested and avoid kissing me/sharing utensils. I also asked her if she ever kissed me in my childhood while she had the sores and she said she doesn't remember. I'm a bit of a hypochondriac and started panicking, and told her that she should've told me earlier in life and got tested. She kept insisting that she knew it wasn't contagious because my father never got the sores and that she'd had it since she was a teen and that she got the blisters whenever she was really stressed. I said that from what I looked into that can still align pretty well with herpes symptoms and that I didn't want to kiss her or share any utensils until she got tested. She said that I was "disgusted at my own family" and that I wanted her to just "disappear". AITA?
