My friend (24f) asked me (23f) to cut her hair a few days ago. For background I have no experience as a hair dresser and she just knows that I cut my own hair and my sisters and asked if I could do hers. She asked for an inch off, and she handed me some barber scissors that she had got off amazon. I just kind of pulled her hair back and started cutting in a straight line. When I finished, I fully stepped back and realized it was completely uneven and looked very choppy. I apologized profusely and stayed for over an hour to try and help her even it out before I had to go. Now, she is asking that I pay for a haircut with a stylist who can fix her hair. She says that because I’m the one who “ruined” her hair, that I should be the one to pay to fix it. If money wasn’t an issue, I would gladly pay but I don’t really have the means to be giving $30-50 to someone for a haircut. I explained to her that although I am very very sorry about her hair, it was her decision to ask me to cut it instead of going to a stylist to get it done. She was fully aware that I am neither a hairdresser nor have any experience cutting hair outside of my own and my sister’s. So, AITA here for refusing to pay for her to get her hair fixed?
