I have a daughter 18f. She currently works part time as a waiter at a nice restaurant nearby. I don't know how she got hired but yes. Basically in our state waiters can't be paid less than the state minimum wage so my daughter makes 18 dollars an hour which I say is pretty decent for a waiter already. But many people don't know that and still continue to tip causing her to make a lot more. If we add in her salary and tips she makes a total of 27-32 dollars per hour usually this is more than what I make hourly. Last night she came and told me that she made 120 dollars from tips that day alone. I find that insane. I don't think she should be making so much for a job that requires nearly no training or effort. And I think she's taking advantage of poor customers believing she's only making 3 or 4 dollars an hour. I find this really unfair considering so many people make less than her. I told her how overpaid and privileged she was and that she should acknowledge it. She immediately got upset and angry and my husband is also mad at me.
