Before I start..for context, I come from a well off British/kiwi background.. good schools and ok up bringing, moved to NZ in 2000 for fresh life (me aged 4) went through most of life being raised by mum as Dad worked as a cop in the UK we would see him maybe 3 times a year, they eventually split in 2009. Move forward to 2013, mum went to the UK as dad fled back there, she got a settlement and didn't use it to buy a house of her own and used it to travel and spend on my younger sister.... Move forward again to 2023, im 27 have a child now, renting my own place and she splits with her partner, I no longer have a partner, so 50/50 split child care, my mother moves in to rent somewhere, decided within a few weeks she hated the landlord and just puts pressure on me and the fact she would be homeless...and moves into mine... 2 years later she is still here and it's causing issues for me to move on with life and have a partner... Reddit, what do I do? I can't afford the full rent, don't make enough from work to save and pay a bond to move... she said it wouldn't be long term, I barely spend time at the house due to meeting someone...options?
